The National Center on Sexual Exploitation (NCOSE) is dedicated to ensuring that individuals can live free from sexual abuse and exploitation. If you are passionate about this mission and want to contribute to fostering a culture where everyone can thrive, this internship offers a unique opportunity.
The Sexual Justice Advocate Internship program allows participants to engage in vital work aimed at defending human dignity. Interns will have the chance to combat sexual abuse and exploitation while acquiring new skills through practical experiences designed to prevent exploitation before it occurs. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to connect with recognized leaders in the field of anti-sexual exploitation and participate in educational briefings.
ABOUT THIS POSITION:
NCOSE employs a multidisciplinary approach to effectively address the systems of sexual abuse and exploitation. By uniting experts from various fields, NCOSE aims to end sexual abuse and exploitation rather than merely managing its effects. Interns will gain firsthand experience in the operations of a successful non-profit organization.
*Applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.
TERM: 13-15 weeks, six months, or 1 year
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Assisting with non-profit management tasks, which may involve:
- Strategic planning and brainstorming
- Reporting
- Outreach to express gratitude to partners
- Working on special projects as assigned by the CEO and Executive team, including:
- Outreach to peer organizations
- Coordination of special events
- Research related to topics such as pornography, sex trafficking, and human rights abuses
- Development of presentations
- Projects related to the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation
- Creation of website content and advocacy materials
- Writing and editing for blogs, newsletters, and other communications
- Representing NCOSE at coalition meetings and reporting on relevant events as directed.
- Staying informed about current developments and conducting research on various topics related to sexual exploitation.
- Assisting at conferences, meetings, and events as needed.
- Providing support with office management tasks, including correspondence and filing.
*Responsibilities may shift based on organizational needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Commitment to opposing sexual exploitation and alignment with NCOSE's mission and values
- Strong writing and communication abilities
- Experience in research and information synthesis
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with digital marketing techniques
- Access to a personal laptop and charger

COMPENSATION:
This internship is unpaid, though a small monthly stipend may be available based on qualifications and hours worked.
SCHEDULE:
The position requires 24-40 hours per week, primarily during standard office hours.
