Job Summary:

The Licensed Psychiatric Technician will be responsible for assisting with the coordination of care to ensure the health and safety needs of our residents are met. This includes administering medications, attending doctor appointments, and assisting with daily living activities such as bathing, grooming, and meal preparation.

Responsibilities:
  • Administer medications to individuals and verify the five rights for accuracy
  • Attend residents' doctor appointments and communicate with the attending physician
  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including bathing, cleaning, and meal preparation
  • Audit medications during new medication cycles and verify the five rights
  • Perform g-tube insertions and colostomy care as needed
  • Perform intramuscular injections and diabetes insulin medication injections
  • Evaluate residents' level of consciousness and neurological factors
  • Redirect individuals during behavioral episodes and provide ongoing support
  • Complete and update client notes system daily
  • Observe and report unusual behaviors and injuries
  • Assess and identify signs and symptoms of infections
  • Perform basic physical reviews, including vital sign checks and head-to-toe assessments
  • Participate in community outings and leisure activities with residents
Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • Licensed Psychiatric Technician certification
  • Direct Support Professional 1 & 2 certification
  • First Aid/CPR and CPI certification
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and have a California Driver's License
  • Candidate must pass all pre-employment requirements, including a background check
