Job Title: Design Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team at Performance Contracting Group. As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for creating 3D models using Revit and coordinating with design and operations staff to ensure accurate and efficient project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Attend kick-off meetings to ensure understanding of project details and contract requirements
  • Create 3D models using Revit and other software
  • Participate in BIM coordination and design meetings
  • Develop and model scopes as requested, including interior and exterior walls, ceilings, and specialty scopes
  • Coordinate with point cloud files and ensure models are spatially coordinated
  • Escalate any issues to the BIM Coordinator and Design or Operations Team
  • Perform BIM compliance checks and QC models against project documents
  • Utilize Navisworks Manage to run clash detection and identify potential issues
  • Create and maintain project-specific content to ensure alignment with instructions and guidelines
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (Construction Management, Construction Science, Architecture, Engineering Fields, etc.)
  • 2-year technical degree or 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree
  • 4+ years of BIM (Revit)/VDC modeling and coordination experience
  • Proficiency with software platforms including Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks Manage, and BIM 360 Design/Glue
  • Ability to present a portfolio demonstrating work in Revit and Revit Family Editor
  • Experience with Bluebeam PDF Software
Preferred Requirements:
  • Experience with cleanroom, non-structural metal framing, drywall, façade systems, ceiling systems
  • Working knowledge of Dynamo, Revit API, SketchUp, and iConstruct
  • Local to the Washington, DC Metro area
