DEPARTMENT SUMMARY:

The Elections Department is responsible for overseeing electoral processes, nonpartisan voter advocacy, and voter registration initiatives across multiple states. This department is charged with creating and executing strategies for voter engagement in collaboration with all organizational sectors to cultivate enduring electoral influence within working-class communities.

ROLE SUMMARY:

CASA in Action is seeking a dynamic, organized, and empowering individual to spearhead the execution of our direct voter engagement initiatives. The Voter Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with the Pennsylvania Voter Engagement Manager to establish and sustain a robust team of canvassers aimed at enhancing voter participation among working families and immigrant communities through direct outreach efforts.

The ideal candidate will possess a passion for cultivating leadership within their team and engaging registered voters and eligible community members in exercising their civic rights to foster genuine, grassroots political movements. They will be knowledgeable about best practices in voter engagement and the challenges faced by working families and immigrant communities. A proven ability to effectively network and communicate information is essential, along with a commitment to achieving results in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and input. A strong dedication to racial equity is also crucial.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Direct Voter Engagement:

  • Oversee the daily operational activities of your assigned canvassing team.
  • Conduct daily meetings with the Pennsylvania Voter Engagement Manager to review operational plans and provide constructive feedback on outreach strategies.
  • Facilitate all canvass launches and debriefing sessions to communicate daily objectives and program updates.
  • Engage with voters daily to encourage and mobilize them to participate in elections.
  • Effectively disseminate vital voting information.
  • Capture and share impactful voter engagement content with the Communications team.
  • Accurately record and report interaction data in a timely manner.
  • Stay updated on electoral news and campaign narratives, including community issues and candidate positions.

Team Leadership:

  • Guide your team in achieving daily performance metrics and fostering team cohesion through coaching and feedback.
  • Distribute necessary canvassing materials and supplies to your team.
  • Monitor progress towards goals, including outreach and conversation rates.
  • Track canvasser hours and manage timesheet submissions.
  • Address any on-field incidents and report them to the Pennsylvania Voter Engagement Manager.
  • Encourage your team to document voter engagement experiences.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in recruiting canvassers and conducting preliminary interviews to recommend candidates for final selection.
  • Notify the Pennsylvania Voter Engagement Manager of low inventory levels for equipment and supplies.
  • Perform other job-related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

We are looking for candidates who excel in relationship-building, are results-driven, and possess strong communication skills. Candidates should have:

  • The ability to fulfill all outlined responsibilities.
  • A valid US Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
  • Flexibility to work outside of traditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Experience with immigrant or low-income communities is advantageous.
  • The capacity to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Self-motivation and a history of leadership and team morale building.
  • High energy levels in a dynamic environment.
  • A demonstrated commitment to achieving high standards and overcoming challenges.
  • Basic to intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets for data management tasks is a plus.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accuracy and professionalism in all work.
  • Fluency in Spanish is preferred.
  • A commitment to social change and advancing CASA in Action's mission of empowering working-class communities through political engagement.
  • Previous management experience is beneficial but not mandatory.
