Job Summary

The Home Health Care Consultant is a key member of our team, responsible for promoting the Compassus philosophy and values. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare marketing and the ability to effectively communicate with healthcare providers and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to educate healthcare providers and the public about the home health program.
  • Collaborate with the Home Health Area Market Executive and Director of Growth to create a development plan aimed at promoting the Home Health Program's benefits.
  • Maintain current data on market area, competitors, and marketing strategies.
  • Provide excellent service to the community while ensuring a balanced and sustainable mix of admissions.
  • Prepare and conduct calls and presentations to potential referral sources.
  • Participate in strategic planning and the analysis for their assigned territory in conjunction with the Home Health agency business plan.
  • Coordinate with clinical management staff in planning in-services and presentations, and in addressing issues with referral sources.
  • Participate in community and organizational programs as requested to promote professional growth and understanding of Home Health care.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a health-related field strongly preferred.
  • One (1) to two (2) years of related experience preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Experience in healthcare marketing preferred.
Skills
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from leaders, team members, investors, and external parties. Strong written and verbal communications.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English. Articulates and embraces hospice philosophy. Strong organizational and time management skills. Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include nights and weekends. Must be able to travel. Excellent communication skills. Proficiency in skills related to public relations and marketing. Ability to work independently in the management of assigned responsibilities. Must maintain a relationship with all referral sources to make sure we are meeting their needs, as well as those of the patients, families, support staff, etc. Strong negotiation skills a plus.
Work Environment
The demands of this role necessitate a team member to effectively perform essential functions. Adaptations can be made to accommodate team members with disabilities. Regular standing, walking, and manual dexterity are fundamental, along with the ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds. Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
