Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled and committed EHS Specialist to become a vital part of our team in the Manufacturing sector.

The EHS Specialist will play a crucial role in developing, executing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety initiatives to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations.

This position calls for a proactive individual who possesses a deep understanding of EHS regulations and is dedicated to fostering a safe and healthy workplace.

The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within the manufacturing field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and oversee safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct routine safety inspections and audits to identify potential risks and ensure adherence to safety regulations.
  • Deliver training and education to staff on safety practices, procedures, and regulations to cultivate a safety-oriented culture within the organization.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near-misses to determine root causes and implement corrective measures to prevent future occurrences.
  • Maintain and manage EHS records and documentation, including incident reports, training logs, and safety data sheets.
  • Engage with regulatory agencies and represent the organization during EHS audits and inspections.
  • Collaborate with management and staff to identify and resolve EHS issues and continuously enhance the organization's EHS performance.
  • Stay informed about changes in EHS regulations and industry best practices, implementing necessary updates to the company's EHS programs.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in an EHS role, preferably in the manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of EHS regulations and guidelines, including OSHA, EPA, and other relevant agencies.
  • Preferred certifications include Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
  • Demonstrated experience in conducting safety audits and inspections, incident investigations, and risk assessments.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and educate employees on safety matters.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and EHS management systems.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing EHS issues.
  • Commitment to fostering a culture of safety within the organization.
