Job Title: Sr Credit Officer Ag Lending

Compeer Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sr Credit Officer Ag Lending to join our team. As a key member of our credit team, you will be responsible for analyzing new credit requests, making loan servicing decisions, and performing other essential credit duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze financial and supporting documentation submitted for formal and informal lending and servicing requests.
  • Identify, communicate, and assist in the collection of financial information required to process lending and servicing requests.
  • Approve, decline, or escalate credit decisions to higher authority levels as required.
  • Determine the appropriate level of analysis and due diligence required based on credit risk.
  • Facilitate negotiation of credit agreements between Compeer, borrower, participants, and outside counsel.
  • Proactively monitor lending portfolio and loan performance for the organization and provide direction for loan classification.
  • Work directly with sales teams or clients to develop a plan to cure loan delinquencies or other servicing requests.
  • Determine how to structure stressed credits to meet internal lending requirements, client expectations, and organizational growth objectives.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in ag business, finance, economics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a financial institution.
  • Knowledge of federal and state laws, regulations, and compliance requirements specific to the financial industry and Farm Credit.
  • Advanced knowledge of agricultural businesses and operations, crop insurance, and livestock industries, and associated production practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of loan products, services, and credit operations.
  • Advanced understanding of credit processing and servicing activities, accounting principles, and practices, credit analysis procedures, credit administration, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Advanced interpersonal, collaboration, communication, team building, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong computer skills, including MS Office applications, customer relationship management (CRM) programs, internal underwriting, and database systems.
  • Strong decision-making, negotiating, and influencing skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other teams to achieve goals and represent the business.
  • Travel expected, may be required at times.
  • Valid driver's license.
