Position Overview:
As a vital member of Geisinger Health System, the Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring a seamless experience for patients. Key Responsibilities:
1. Serve as the first point of contact for patients, managing front office operations efficiently.
2. Welcome and register patients, ensuring accurate demographic information is collected.
3. Facilitate the patient check-out process and assist in scheduling future appointments.
4. Monitor patient wait times and communicate any necessary updates to enhance the patient experience.
5. Interpret insurance responses and apply guidelines to determine appropriate insurance coverage.
6. Ensure patients receive essential disclosure and privacy information, securing necessary signatures.
7. Clearly communicate financial responsibilities to patients and collect payments as required.
8. Complete all regulatory forms with patients and assist in scheduling follow-up appointments.
9. Address multi-channel messages related to patient and physician inquiries regarding appointments, referrals, and prescriptions.
10. Maintain compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA regulations, and patient confidentiality standards.

Work Environment:
This role is primarily office-based, requiring the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
