Perioperative Surgical Nurse Position at Trident Medical Center

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse OR to join our team at Trident Medical Center, a 445-bed hospital system in South Carolina.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and compassionate nurse to provide professional surgical nursing care to patients in our Operating Room department. As a Registered Nurse OR, you will be responsible for ensuring effective communication with the surgical technologists, other Registered Nurses, surgeons, patients, and their families, as well as other members of the surgical team.
Responsibilities:- Provide assistance in emergency procedures, elective, and scheduled cases
- Work alongside surgical teams to ensure that patients receive the best possible care
- Serve as a liaison between the surgical team and patients' families
- Be responsible for organizing supplies needed for patients
- Assess patients before, during, and after surgery and maintain a sterile operating room
- Perform count procedures to protect patients from unintended retained foreign objects, as well as perform interventions necessary to ensure the patient's procedure is performed on the correct site, side, and level
To be considered for this role, you must have a graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing (Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher) and be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license. You should also have current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification and at least one year of previous experience in Perioperative Nursing.
