The Vertex Companies, LLC seeks a skilled Senior Consultant to join our Surety team in NYC. This role provides an opportunity to leverage expertise in evaluating construction claims, assessing project risks, and supporting surety providers in navigating complex challenges.
In this position, you will manage construction projects, including on-site supervision and compliance monitoring. You will investigate and analyze performance and payment bond claims, contractor defaults, and construction deficiencies. Additionally, you will review construction documents, prepare technical reports, and conduct project schedule analysis. Your responsibilities will also include performing construction project financial audits and evaluating contract claims, preparing and monitoring consulting budgets while maintaining targeted billability, developing and maintaining key client relationships, participating in technical presentations, and preparing marketing materials. Travel may be required for projects, with both local and national travel possible.
We are seeking a professional with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field, and at least 10 years of industry experience. Demonstrated technical expertise in construction management, engineering, or architecture is essential. Strong communication, writing, and organizational skills are also necessary. Proficiency in standard software packages and project management tools is required. Ability to manage complex tasks and perform under high-pressure conditions is crucial. Professional certifications such as PE, RA, CDT, CCCA, or CCM will receive special consideration.
This role offers a competitive annualized base salary range of $110,000 - $145,000 per year. Our total compensation package includes a robust benefits program, which includes healthcare options, dental, company-paid life insurance, short-term and long-term disability insurance, a 401(k) plan with immediate match and vesting, a flexible spending account, employee assistance program, and other perks. We also provide a generous paid time off plan for eligible employees, including 15 days of vacation, 64 hours of sick time, and 9.5 paid holidays (prorated for eligible part-time employees).
