Job Overview

The Director of Electrical Systems at Tech USA is responsible for leading the electrical engineering discipline and function, providing direction, expertise, and support to ensure project and work site deliverables are successfully achieved within the business sector.

  • This role involves performing engineering review of permit applications, engineering design plans and specifications, engineering contracts, integrated management plans, and periodic construction inspections, ensuring compliance with applicable state and/or federal regulations and sound engineering practice and standards.
  • Leading larger-scale more complex electrical engineering projects, preparing and overseeing relevant project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees.
Key Responsibilities

Project Management

  • Provide expert technical assistance on various engineering, design, and construction issues relating to lighting design and controls and specifications, power distribution, emergency power systems, fire alarm, and various technology systems.
  • Responsible for the successful execution of electrical system design for current and potential building and infrastructure work.

Leadership and Collaboration

  • Lead technical aspects of contract negotiation, presentations, and meetings.
  • Support the overall long-term strategy, growth, and pipeline development of Electrical Engineering work for in assigned area of responsibility, with a focus on building and infrastructure opportunities in all disciplines (planning, design, and strategic consulting and program/construction management).
Requirements

We are seeking an experienced Director of Electrical Systems with:

  • Highly proficient with Electrical Engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.
  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and program/construction management; including comprehensive experience in working with adjacent disciplines such as mechanical, plumbing and fire protection engineering
  • A strong working knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements, and the business impact upon the organization.

$120,000 - $180,000 per year, depending on experience. Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
