Job Summary

Prime Controls is seeking a highly skilled Control Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing control systems for various industrial applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop control systems for industrial applications
  • Collaborate with project managers and estimators to assess potential projects and submit proposals
  • Develop and implement PLC programs in Ladder, Function Block, and other languages
  • Develop and implement human machine interfaces (HMIs)
  • Develop and implement hardware and software test plans
  • Develop and implement training plans and materials for operations and maintenance personnel
  • Troubleshoot problems that occur during startup
  • Diagnose and resolve software and hardware interface issues
Requirements
  • 4 years of experience in industrial controls engineering
  • Proficiency with Allen Bradley equipment and systems
  • Proficiency in Rockwell Automation Hardware
  • Proficiency in PLC programming including ladder logic, function block, and structured text
  • Familiarity with networking (Ethernet/IP)
  • Experience and knowledge of HMIs
Preferred Qualifications
  • 6 years of experience in architectural, engineering or construction (AEC) industry or similar field
  • Proficiency with Aveva System Platform (Wonderware)
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD - Autodesk software

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work near moving mechanical parts and be exposed to a risk of electrical shock. The environment can be outside and in other spaces that are not environmentally controlled. The temperature can be over 100F or below 32F. There can be mud on the ground as well as ice and snow. At times, the employee will be required to wear PPE (i.e. hard hat, safety boots, hearing protection, eye protection, etc.).

At times, the employee will be working in an environment with significant noise.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or hear. The employee needs to be able to spend 10 hours on their feet walking and attending to duties and equipment throughout the jobsite. They need to be able to climb ladders and step on platforms and equipment. They need to be able to maneuver (stoop, crawl, bend) around obstacles to reach equipment for testing and troubleshooting.
