Job Title: Financial Reporting Analyst

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Reporting Analyst to join our team at The State of Oklahoma. As a key member of our Central Accounting and Reporting team, you will play a critical role in supporting the preparation of the State's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the preparation of the State's Annual Comprehensive Financial Report, ensuring accuracy and compliance with governmental accounting standards.
  • Communicate effectively with agencies to obtain financial information, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Instruct and assist agencies with the completion of GAAP conversion packages, ensuring seamless transitions.
  • Revises and updates state agency conversion packages annually, as needed, to maintain compliance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the review and analysis of the State's accounting policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Serve as a liaison to State Auditor & Inspector agency personnel, fostering collaboration and cooperation.
  • Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports submitted by agencies, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects, analyses, and reporting as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, with a strong foundation in governmental accounting standards and principles.
  • CPA certification or candidate status, with a demonstrated understanding of GAAP and GASB.
  • Governmental accounting experience, with a proven track record of compliance and accuracy.
  • Experience working with general ledger and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, with a strong understanding of data analysis and reporting.
