Your Role

In the capacity of Senior Manager for Billing and Collections, you will spearhead the Billing & Collections teams at Catalis. This pivotal position is essential for guaranteeing precise order processing, customer invoicing and renewals, cash collection, as well as the implementation of internal controls and oversight of crucial platforms and systems. You will play a significant role within the finance team, collaborating extensively with sales and operations to bolster market strategies, scalability, and strategic growth, all while fulfilling the company's objectives. This role offers a hybrid work arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and nurture efficient billing and collections teams, promoting operational excellence and professional development.
  • Oversee order management, billing, renewals, and cash collection processes, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely customer interactions.
  • Guarantee that customer invoices are compiled accurately with all necessary documentation and dispatched in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls to ensure precise accounting outputs and protect company assets, while developing relevant policies, procedures, and workflows.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in all aspects of billing and collections.
  • Collaborate with financial statement auditors to meet audit and disclosure requirements.
  • Assist with system-related initiatives led by Corporate Operations and the Finance Department, particularly as the primary owner of billing systems such as Salesforce and NetSuite.
  • Foster an environment that encourages maximum productivity, effective service delivery, personal growth, open communication, and teamwork.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to employees, department leaders, management, auditors, vendors, and clients.
  • Engage with various stakeholders across the organization, including Corporate Accounting, Tax, FP&A, Legal, HR, Sales, Revenue Operations, IT, and others.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in general corporate or public accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role over billing and collections teams.
  • Preferred: Experience in a software-as-a-service environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with ASC 606 revenue recognition accounting principles and the systematic aspects of billing and collections.
  • Experience supporting accounting operations and reporting across multiple business units, coupled with strong accounting research capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge of sales tax as it pertains to billing.
  • Experience with systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Kantata, Workday, and others is advantageous.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational abilities, along with strong verbal and written communication skills and a customer-centric approach.
