Job Title: Assistant General Manager Aquatics

As a key member of the Gilbride Management Group (GMG) team, the Assistant General Manager Aquatics will oversee the daily operations of our swim school, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for our students and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and control daily operations to meet GSS standards
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and department managers to achieve daily tasks
  • Manage staff to ensure high productivity, excellent performance, and positive employee satisfaction
  • Oversee employee engagement and maintain a high level of employee satisfaction
  • Develop and implement training programs for the aquatics department
  • Interact with wet side staff on operational items, including class scheduling, student progress, and customer experience
  • Maintain and troubleshoot pool chemistry and pump room operation
  • Develop a high level of knowledge and experience in GSS pool operations
  • Conduct evaluations and assessments of teachers and trainees
  • Direct and oversee the implementation of the Emergency Action Plan and safety procedures
  • Provide sales and marketing training to qualified sales staff
  • Work with the Marketing Manager to ensure high levels of customer service and sales performance
  • Direct and oversee private party staff to ensure GSS standards are maintained
  • Work with the GM and Marketing Manager to manage social media, book water safety presentations, and build partnerships with local businesses
  • Monitor email, voice messages, and social media for timely and appropriate responses
  • Develop a high level of competence in bookings, class scheduling, reporting, and administrative functions
  • Develop a high level of knowledge of GSS pool operations to train front desk staff
  • Initiate and oversee workplace culture and employee interaction
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, communications, or equivalent preferred
  • Experience as a certified lifeguard, youth sports instructor/coach, camp counselor, and/or childcare provider required
  • Two or more years as a swimming instructor preferred
  • Certified Pool Operator and Lifeguard Instructor certifications required
Work Environment:

While performing this job, the employee is regularly exposed to heat and humidity. Noise level is usually moderate.
