Job Summary:

As a Sterile Processing Technician II at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical equipment and supplies. Your expertise will be essential in maintaining a safe and efficient Sterile Processing Department, adhering to strict guidelines and protocols to prevent infection and ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store, and distribute medical equipment and supplies in accordance with regulatory guidelines.
  • Operate and maintain complex equipment, including steam sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, and automated endoscope reprocessors.
  • Inspect and assemble surgical instruments, ensuring they are properly cleaned, disinfected, and sterilized.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely delivery of sterilized equipment and supplies.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance departmental efficiency and patient safety.

Requirements:
  • Two years of experience as a Sterile Processing Technician or Surgical Technician in an acute hospital setting.
  • Certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of instrument processing techniques, including decontamination, assembly, and sterilization.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
