Role Purpose:

The Risk Business Analyst II will serve as the product owner for risk analysis, collaborating with both IT and business sectors to ensure the derivatives system meets necessary functionalities.

This position entails defining and executing the vision for system enhancements and prioritizing tasks for the IT team.

Core Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will:

  • Act as the Product Owner for the Derivatives System.
  • Collaborate with internal technology teams using Agile methodologies to deliver new or improved system capabilities.
  • Work closely with product managers and business units to maintain a system backlog based on business value and ROI.
  • Lead team scrums to establish system vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities while keeping stakeholders informed throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Plan and prioritize system development tasks with detailed specifications understood by relevant teams.
  • Address obstacles to achieving sprint and release objectives.
  • Coordinate between business and IT for system maintenance and support.

Additionally, the role involves ongoing monitoring of system performance and operations for continuous improvement and coordinating with business areas on system-related processes such as portfolio onboarding and data management.

Business Project Management:

The analyst will be responsible for:

  • Organizing and planning risk system initiatives.
  • Analyzing impacts on current systems and processes while defining project scope.
  • Identifying cross-functional dependencies.
  • Liaising with business and IT for coordination and developing strategic plans.
  • Executing project plans and ensuring alignment of priorities and deliverables for IT-related workstreams.
  • Managing communication and status updates with stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance or a related IT field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Risk, IT, Trading, Derivatives, or a related domain.
  • Strong understanding of systems, data, and business process integrations across corporate functions in investments, risk, finance, or actuarial disciplines.
  • Knowledge of data warehousing and reporting architecture.
  • Ability to manage conflicting stakeholder needs effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of business value associated with features and functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile project management methodologies.
  • Strong relationship-building skills and effective communication abilities.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, independent, assertive, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
