Objective:
The Risk Analyst II will serve as the product owner for our derivatives system, collaborating closely with both IT and business units to ensure the system meets essential operational requirements. This role involves defining and implementing a strategic vision for system enhancements and prioritizing IT initiatives. The focus will be on optimizing the Risk Derivatives system based on the following criteria:

• Centralized data, model development, and governance:

• Enhanced quality and timeliness of data and analytics:

• Enterprise-wide distribution:

• Incremental releases and faster ROI

Key Responsibilities:

Derivatives System Product Ownership

  • Collaborate with internal technology teams using Agile methodologies to deliver new or improved system functionalities.
    • Engage with product managers and business units to create and manage a system backlog aligned with business value or ROI.
    • Facilitate team scrums to establish system vision, roadmap, and growth opportunities, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Plan and prioritize system development and feature backlog with clear specifications understood by relevant teams.
    • Address obstacles to achieving sprint/release objectives.
  • Coordinate between business and IT for maintenance and support activities related to the system.
  • Continuously monitor system performance and operations for ongoing enhancement.
  • Work with business units to execute system-related processes:
    • Portfolio onboarding, administration, data management, etc.
  • Develop expertise in derivatives and all related pre and post-execution processes and systems at Athene, positioning yourself as a key resource for information and leadership.
Business Project Management
  • Organize and plan Risk system initiatives
    • Assess impacts on current systems and processes and define project scope.
    • Identify cross-functional dependencies.
    • Collaborate with business and IT areas for coordination, developing plans and approaches.
  • Execute Project Plans
    • Ensure alignment of priorities and deliverables for IT-related workstreams.
    • Manage communication and status updates with stakeholders.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Finance or a related IT field.
  • Over 4 years of experience in Risk, IT, Trading, Derivatives, or a related domain.
  • Strong understanding of systems, data, and business process integrations across corporate functions in investments, risk, finance, or actuarial.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing and reporting architecture and design.
  • Ability to effectively manage conflicting stakeholder needs.
  • Comprehension of business value associated with features and functions.
  • In-depth knowledge of Agile methodologies for project management.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to establish and maintain robust relationships within the organization.
  • The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, well-organized, independent, assertive, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing in a dynamic environment.
$63, $94,800.00 USD Annual

The annual salary for this position is competitive within the market. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, and/or skill level at the time of offer. Depending on the role, a discretionary bonus plan or variable sales incentive may be included.
