Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Must hold a DoD Secret Clearance; Top Secret is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Physics, Mathematics, or a related Science/Engineering field, or equivalent experience combined with education, with a minimum of 9 years of professional experience; or 7 years of relevant experience with a Master's degree.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong foundation in mathematics and physics, including probability, statistics, linear algebra, and calculus.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB or similar programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Bash, Mathematica, JavaScript) for prototyping, data visualization, scripting, parsing, and functional programming.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Advanced analytical skills, including Monte Carlo analysis and statistical regression.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Linux, databases, Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins/Hudson, Jira, Cucumber, Confluence, Twiki, and regular expressions.
  • Familiarity with Linux and/or Unix-based development environments.

Required Experience:

  • Development and application of mathematical models.
  • Algorithm engineering for solving computational problems, encompassing design, analysis, implementation, optimization, profiling, and experimental evaluation.
  • Understanding of systems engineering and software engineering principles and processes.

Desirable Experience:

  • Modeling and simulation of large, complex systems.
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and metaheuristics.
  • Experience with Verification & Validation (V&V) testing of intricate software systems.
  • Familiarity with the C2BMC mission, Missile Defense domain, or Space Domain Awareness.
  • Understanding of surveillance and target acquisition, track state estimation and correlation, track-to-truth mapping, state vectors, tracking covariances, coordinate conversions, time conversions, and EOIR/RF phenomenology.
  • Knowledge of scheduling and resource management, identification and discrimination, battle management, signal processing, and orbital dynamics.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Development in distributed application environments using Java, C++, or other Object-Oriented programming languages.
  • Must possess DoD Secret clearance prior to employment; a current DoD Top Secret clearance is highly desired.
  • Willingness to support occasional domestic and international travel.
  • Availability for occasional off-duty hours as needed.
