Job Summary:

The Principal Systems Engineer will join the C2BMC team and work in an integrated team environment with other systems and specialty engineers to develop solutions that include a background in all systems development life cycle aspects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Use Case briefing development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance Use Case skills in the department.
  • Focus on supporting the development and review of Interface Control Documents, System/Subsystem Requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, and author and performing formal and informal engineering reviews.
  • Adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts on an as-required basis.
  • Actively participate in the efforts associated with Agile development, including iteration planning, status, and agile team leadership.
  • Contributions to implementation that include the ability to analyze high-level needs and define a structured and logical approach to refine the capability into an integrated set of requirements that led to a fielded product.
  • Will communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings and will write and implement project engineering plans.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience or a Master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of experience, or a PhD and 0 years of experience.
  • Must have experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g., Interface Control Documents, Use Cases Briefings, Sequence Diagrams, Trade Studies, Specifications, Architecture Descriptions, etc.).
  • Must possess an understanding of systems engineering processes and principles.
  • Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software, and specialty engineers to develop solutions.
  • Proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.
  • Experience decomposing requirements from parent-level to lower system/subsystem-level requirements.
  • Must be able to write and implement engineering plans within a project.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up-to 10% to support business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Top Secret clearance.
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment.
  • Domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense.
  • Experience in mission analysis and SysML modeling in support of MBSE.
  • A DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is highly desired.

Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $97,500 - $153,600 in Colorado Springs, CO and $102,400 - $153,600 in Huntsville, AL.

Salary Range for Sr. Principal Systems Engineer:

The salary range for this position is $121,000 - $190,600 in Colorado Springs, CO and $127,000 - $190,600 in Huntsville, AL.
