Job Title: Director of Production Incentives

AMC Networks is a leading media company that produces and distributes high-quality content across various platforms. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Production Incentives to join our team.

Job Summary:

The Director of Production Incentives will be responsible for overseeing the tax incentives process for all AMC Studios original productions. This includes analyzing filming jurisdictions to maximize tax credits, vetting state and local production and post-production tax incentive programs, and providing guidance on various jurisdictional programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze filming jurisdictions to maximize tax credits and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Vet state and local production and post-production tax incentive programs to identify opportunities for tax savings.
  • Provide guidance on various jurisdictional programs and ensure that all necessary documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Work closely with the post-production department to optimize tax incentives for post-production and VFX work.
  • Communicate with lobbyists to stay informed of potential changes in legislation and provide assessments of proposed changes.
  • Compile and submit all necessary production-related information for tax credit applications.
  • Ensure that all submitted projects are certified and approved by the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Provide updates and deliverables to the film office throughout production and upon completion.
  • Work closely with the digital marketing and production departments to create alternative marketing materials.
  • Engage with auditors and provide all necessary financial support documentation.
  • Manage the audit process and respond to open items and questions in a timely manner.
  • Connect with Department of Revenue representatives to ensure timely credit approval.
  • Provide updated expected tax credit amounts and timing to the Corporate Finance Department on a quarterly basis.
  • Provide information to the Corporate Tax Department for corporate tax filing.
  • Engage with tax brokers to ensure audit status and expected credit amounts are up-to-date.
  • Provide guidance to production accountants on jurisdictional requirements and qualified vs. non-qualified expenditures.
  • Monitor production spend in jurisdictions to flag inconsistencies with forecasting and adjust credit estimates accordingly.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7-10 years of experience working in production tax incentives.
  • Familiarity with various tax credit processes for state and international jurisdictions.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, if required.
  • Experience with production budgeting and scheduling.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft applications.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to interact with all levels of management.
  • Well-organized and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
