About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Building Inspector to join our team at Jobot. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with building codes and regulations in commercial and public structures.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct Field Inspections: Conduct thorough field inspections of building construction, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical installations in all stages of completion to ensure compliance with applicable building codes, ordinances, and regulations.
  • Plan Review: Perform plan review for minor construction alterations and additions to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations.
  • Final Inspections: Conduct final inspections of completed work to ensure that all construction meets building codes and regulations.
  • Investigate Violations: Investigate violations of building laws and regulations, and take necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate logs and records of work, including plans and specifications, permits, and fees.
  • Public Information: Provide information to the public regarding building codes, installations, and requirements.
  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports of inspections, and provide testimony in court regarding violations.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with Code Compliance, Fire, Public Works, and outside agencies to facilitate code compliance for typical inspections and investigations.
Requirements
  • Commercial ICC Certification
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
