Position Available: Maintenance Multi-Craft Lead - 1st Shift

We are seeking a proactive and self-driven team player with strong communication skills to take on the following responsibilities:

  • Role Summary: The Maintenance Lead will execute maintenance tasks and support fellow technicians within the Maintenance Department at Plasman.
  • Reporting Structure: This role reports directly to the Maintenance Manager.
  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct maintenance work, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and general repairs to uphold quality and production standards.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and address downtime issues effectively.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
  • Demonstrate strong computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Possess extensive knowledge and experience with PLC and robotics.
  • Maintain the facility by executing repairs as necessary.
  • Fabricate or construct items/building maintenance as required.
  • Oversee robotic repairs and maintenance.
  • Manage maintenance software programs or equivalent repair logs.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Engage in Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure a clean and safe workplace.
  • Comply with Quality and Business Operating Systems, as well as health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Complete additional duties as assigned.
  • Health & Safety Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to the Company Health & Safety Program, including Occupational Health & Safety legislation, regulations, standards, and policies.
  • Minimum Education Requirements:
  • Secondary school diploma or equivalent is required, with preference for candidates holding a Maintenance diploma/certificate or an industrial maintenance/millwright ticket.
  • Preference will be given to those with a valid industrial electrician (442A) or industrial mechanic (Millwright Red Seal program) certification.
  • Educational background in electrical, PLC, mechanical, and hydraulics is preferred.
  • Work Experience Requirements:
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in an industrial maintenance environment is required, with preference for candidates knowledgeable in PLC (OMRON/AB), robotics (Fanuc), electrical, mechanical, and hydraulics.
  • Experience with paint application is considered an asset.
  • Ability to be trained for the responsibilities outlined above.
  • Acceptable performance and attendance records are required.
  • Minimum Training Requirements:
  • WHMIS/MSDS, Lock-out/Tag-out, Crane Training, Lift Truck Training, PLC/Electrical/Robotics training as required, Spill Training, Health & Safety Training, PLASMAN Quality/Environmental Policy awareness, Bear Tracker & Fluke, and New Employee Orientation when necessary.
  • Other Requirements:

  • Ability to prioritize and adjust work based on requirements.
  • Meet expectations for relevant competencies.

  • Willingness to rotate shifts as necessary to support the maintenance team and business needs.
  • Performance Metrics:
  • Acceptable performance ratings in core competency assessments.

Minimum Education and/or Designation Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Technical/college degree or certification in Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, HVAC, Injection Molding, PLC, or Robotics.

Minimum Work Experience Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of direct experience in a Maintenance role.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven leadership in quality, productivity, and team building.
  • Experience in Automotive and Injection Molding systems is encouraged.
  • Familiarity with systems such as Bear Tracker, Fluke, QAD, MLS, and Freedom is advantageous.
