Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Assistant Program Manager to join our team at our Life Skills program in Fort Myers, FL. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to achieve their highest level of independence.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Support and Guidance
  • Provide support and guidance to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to help them achieve their goals and live independently.
  • Work in conjunction with the Program Manager to build a cohesive team and provide leadership and guidance to staff.
  • Develop and implement person-centered plans to support individuals in achieving their goals.
  1. Operations and Administration
  • Monitor the health and safety of all individuals and report any concerns to the Program Manager.
  • Assist with the administration of medication and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the Program Manager and other staff members.
  • Coordinate and oversee custodial crew duties and ensure the facility is clean and safe.
  1. Communication and Collaboration
  • Communicate effectively with individuals, their families, and other stakeholders to ensure their needs are met.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.
  • Provide individual-specific services in compliance with service descriptions and core assurances.
  1. Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of individual progress and services provided.
  • Submit incident reports and other documentation as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and provide personal hygiene assistance as needed.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions

  • Primary activities are conducted within a well-lit, climate-controlled facility.
  • Occasional community outings may require outdoor travel and potential exposure to unpleasant weather.
