Job Summary

The Service Center Technician is a key member of our team at Specialty Products and Insulation, responsible for completing skilled tasks in various operational areas, including maintenance, equipment repairs, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a Clean and Organized Workspace: Ensure that your workstation is tidy and organized, with repair items properly labeled.
  • Execute Scheduled Maintenance and Repairs: Diagnose and repair equipment based on your demonstrated skill level, without supervision.
  • Clean Parts and Equipment: Independently clean and prepare parts and equipment for use.
  • Prepare Rental Equipment: Prepare rental equipment for use and check it back in upon return, following established procedures.
  • Maintain Good Housekeeping: Ensure that the shop and warehouse areas are clean and well-maintained, with attention to the spray booth.
  • Verify Shop Materials and Supplies: Verify that all necessary materials and supplies are available before starting assignments.
  • Develop Skills and Knowledge: Continuously develop the skills and knowledge necessary to complete tasks successfully, without supervision.
  • Complete Scheduled Tasks: Complete tasks scheduled by the Shop Supervisor or assigned lead.
Secondary Responsibilities
  • Backup Freight-Related Tasks: Assist with building crates and other freight-related tasks.
  • Backup Delivery Driver: Assist with delivery duties as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Driver's License: Possess an active driver's license and a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Skilled Multi-Tradesman: Possess knowledge in general mechanics, carpentry, electrical work, and industry-specific equipment.
  • Communication Skills: Possess good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Be able to work independently and as part of a team, with a willingness to adapt to changing situations.
Physical Demands
  • Sitting, Walking, and Standing: Spend a high level of time sitting while driving, as well as walking, standing, and climbing.
  • Stooping, Bending, and Reaching: Perform tasks that require stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Work Environment: Work in a warehouse/fabrication environment, with exposure to all seasons of weather and slippery/uneven surfaces.
  • Lifting and Carrying: Be able to lift a minimum of 60lbs.
Work Environment and Travel
  • Warehouse/Fabrication Environment: Work in a warehouse/fabrication environment.
  • Travel: Some travel may be required.
Exempt Status
  • Non-Exempt: This position is non-exempt.
