Position: Field Operations Supervisor

Location: Texas

Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000 annual salary

The Field Operations Supervisor is tasked with overseeing and directing all field activities and service personnel. This role encompasses various operational disciplines, including substation and relay technicians, field engineers, and transmission line services. The Supervisor will also handle administrative responsibilities that support field operations, such as creating operational work plans, managing annual budgets for operations and maintenance (O&M), overseeing contracts, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Direct all field operations staff involved in transmission lines and station management.
  • Provide guidance and direction to local field operations management.
  • Coordinate switching and clearance operations effectively.
  • Review and authorize electrical isolation plans for maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and oversee annual O&M and capital maintenance budgets.
  • Create and manage the annual field operations work plan and outage schedule.
  • Initiate and manage maintenance contracts with external service providers.
  • Ensure safety qualifications and onboarding processes for contractors.
  • Manage compliance with NERC requirements related to field operations.
  • Generate performance reports for field operations on a regular basis.
  • Utilize Oracle Fusion Cloud for managing preventive and corrective work orders.
  • Support the implementation of asset management databases and maintenance programs.
  • Develop training programs for field operations personnel.
  • Collaborate with internal departments for effective outage management.
  • Engage with external stakeholders for compliance and operational coordination.
  • Participate in project design reviews and provide relevant feedback.
  • Maintain a database of operational events and coordinate issue resolution.
  • Assist in creating standard operating procedures for field operations.
  • Prepare field staff for inspections and site visits.
  • Manage field staff scheduling and overtime requirements.
  • Oversee inventory management for field operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or Business is required; other relevant degrees may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8 years in field operations, engineering, or project management, preferably in a substation or transmission line environment.
  • Skills: Familiarity with ERCOT protocols, NERC compliance, and experience with substation and protection equipment.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification are preferred but not mandatory.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic AutoCAD principles.
  • Competencies: Strong organizational, communication, and team management skills.
