Child Care Team Lead Position in Stratton Mountain

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Child Care Supervisor to join our team at Stratton Mountain Resort in Vermont. This is a full-time year-round benefit eligible position, offering a competitive salary of $23.00 per hour.
About the Job
The Child Care Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of the child care facility, ensuring the development and safety of the children attending the center. This includes coordinating with the Child Care Manager, supervising staff, and maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Foster effective communication between parents and caregivers
- Ensure classroom activities align with developmental needs
- Collaborate in curriculum development and provide feedback as needed
- Stay up-to-date on state licensing regulations and maintain compliance
- Support teaching staff with transitions and behavior management
- Assist the Child Care Manager with scheduling, reservations, and contracts
- Oversee daily check-in and check-out processes, managing reservations as necessary
- Develop and implement staff professional development and orientation/policy training
- Take charge of the child care center during the Child Care Manager's absence
- Complete required annual training hours as defined by the State of Vermont Department of Children and Families and the Child Care Manager
- Be willing to cover classrooms in teacher absence or planning time
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- An Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field (preferred)
- A Vermont Early Childhood and Afterschool Program Director Step One (1) Certificate
Desirable Qualifications
You should also possess:
- 3-5 years of experience as a Teacher Associate or Supervisor in a licensed child care program
- 1-2 years of supervision and staff management experience
Additional Requirements
This position requires occasional travel for educational functions and the ability to lift 40 pounds regularly. You must be able to work weekends and holidays as part of this role.
