General Laborer Position

The General Laborer is responsible for executing various manual tasks and maintaining cleanliness within a facility or outdoor environment as instructed. This role includes unloading materials from railcars as needed, all while prioritizing safety and environmental standards for oneself and fellow workers.
Work Schedule and CompensationThis is a full-time role, structured around four 10-hour shifts each week (Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday). The hourly wage is set at $25.24.

After 90 calendar days, employees are entitled to 5 days of sick leave, 10 paid holidays, and paid vacation based on hours worked in the previous year. Additional benefits include paid jury duty and bereavement leave. Employees can also enroll in our 401k plan upon starting employment, with a 12% employer contribution to the 401k plan upon hiring.
Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain a commitment to safety and environmental compliance while performing the following tasks:
- Conduct clean-up operations throughout the facility, utilizing tools such as brooms, shovels, and wheelbarrows.
- Operate machinery including super suckers, street sweepers, track mobiles, front-end loaders, forklifts, bobcats, water trucks, dump trucks, and other related equipment.
- Unload materials from railcars as directed.
- Carry out painting tasks as assigned.
- Perform janitorial duties as required.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.
A high school diploma or GED is required.
Qualifications and Skills- Ability to comply with Federal, ATF, state, and county regulations for handling Cardox in the future.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and verbally communicating in English.
- Understanding of hazards associated with the job responsibilities.
- Capability to sit, stand, stoop, and bend for extended periods (up to 10 hours).
- Ability to navigate various surfaces, including uneven and slippery terrain.
- Physically capable of climbing on equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy items (up to 50 pounds), including navigating stairs, using appropriate lifting techniques and equipment.
- Must utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment as necessary.
- Climb stairs and ladders up to 400 feet in height.
- Must be able to walk long distances, climb stockpiles, stoop, and crawl into confined spaces.
- Ability to perceive safety indicators and warnings, with exposure to various noise levels requiring hearing protection.
- Must be able to work in diverse weather conditions: hot, cold, wet, dry, and/or dusty, and near high-temperature processes.
- Exposure to cement, clay, limestone, and various chemicals.
- Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
The successful candidate must undergo a post-offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screening, and background check.
