Job Summary

As an Occupational Therapy Assistant at Bon Secours Mercy Health, you will play a vital role in providing patient-centered care and supporting the rehabilitation process. This dynamic role requires a strong foundation in occupational therapy principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist licensed Occupational Therapists in developing and implementing treatment plans to promote patient independence and functional ability.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify patient needs and develop strategies for improving daily living skills and capabilities.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to exchange and discuss patient information, ensuring seamless care coordination and effective treatment outcomes.
  • Design and adapt equipment to enhance patient safety and independence in their living and working environments.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families on adaptive equipment use and continued occupational therapy programs.
  • Stay up-to-date with current developments and new technologies in occupational therapy, ensuring the highest level of care and patient satisfaction.
Requirements
  • Associate's degree in Occupational Therapy Assistant Program
  • Current licensure in the State of Ohio PT/OT/AT Board
  • Preferred: CPR Certification
