Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pro Remodel Sales Specialist to join our team at Builders FirstSource. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating sales to meet designated sales and margin goals, while ensuring the education and delivery of our full suite of products and services to existing and new customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and grow existing customer base across the Pro Remodel business categories through effective sales management techniques, including prospecting, account qualifying, sales development, quoting, and customer follow-up.
  • Update and maintain customer-specific information within company systems, ensuring accurate account, customer details, and contact information are available to management and support teams.
  • Review, engage, coordinate, and follow up on assigned eCommerce leads to successful completion.
  • Formulate accurate and complete project-specific customer information, including regular site visits, plan reviews, and in-depth customer discussions, to enable correct product recommendation and application.
  • Offer full scope services, product upgrades, and extended product lines to optimize customer account penetration and customer objectives.
  • Educate customers and internal teams on new products, services, industry trends, and effective installation.
  • Regularly evaluate accounts to determine revenue and profitability, balancing account viability with future time efforts.
  • Develop and implement full scope account plans, producing individualized account strategies to maintain, penetrate, and grow customer accounts.
  • Schedule regular customer touch bases and account reviews to gather service level feedback, optimizing account penetration and ensuring customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback, including service level feedback, pricing, competition, and market developments, to Market Sales Leadership.
  • Effectively communicate with diverse levels of customers, vendors, and team members.
Requirements
  • GED or High School diploma; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of sales experience in repair & remodel business and Building Industry/Materials Supply Sales experience within distribution operations and sales, preferred.
Competencies
  • Demonstrated selling experience or operations experience.
  • Hands-on experience in building supply, construction, or distribution industry; ability to estimate from blueprints.
  • Knowledge of business management operations, including purchasing, sales, and personnel management.
  • Working knowledge of sales forecasting and analysis.
  • Strong sales and marketing skills.
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and local building codes and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated and working experience with MS Office and computer literacy.
  • Ability to travel within the market to BFS locations and job site locations.
  • Organization and time management skills to effectively prioritize and execute multi-tasking functions through the workday.
  • Ability to effectively operate inside a team environment, both in person and remote.
  • Active listening capability with follow-up critical problem-solving skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to effectively, professionally, and succinctly, communicate or present in-person, verbally over the phone, or written, in a professional manner to multiple audience levels.
  • Ability to effectively utilize and enhance personal selling skills.
  • Knowledge of Building Supply products and services.
