About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Advisor to join our team at HYCU. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our business operations comply with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure HYCU's compliance with laws and regulations governing SaaS businesses, including data protection laws, intellectual property rights, consumer protection laws, and industry-specific regulations.
  • Contract Management: Draft, review, negotiate, and finalize a wide range of contracts, including SaaS agreements, service level agreements (SLAs), terms of service, software licenses, partnership agreements, vendor contracts, SOWs, and NDAs.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Protect HYCU's intellectual property (IP) rights by managing trademark registrations, copyrights, patents, and trade secrets. Conduct intellectual property due diligence for new products and services.
  • Corporate Governance: Provide guidance on corporate governance matters, including board meetings, corporate filings, compliance policies, and corporate structuring.
  • Data Privacy and Security: Advise on data privacy and security issues, including GDPR compliance, data processing agreements, privacy policies, etc.
  • Transaction Support: Conduct legal due diligence for mergers, acquisitions, investments, and partnerships. Assess legal risks and liabilities associated with potential transactions.
Requirements
  • Education: Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (or equivalent) and member of the bar in good standing.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on technology or SaaS companies strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Proven experience supporting sales organizations and customer contracts is a must-have. In-depth knowledge of SaaS business models, including subscription agreements, licensing models, and cloud computing. Strong understanding of intellectual property law, contract law, data protection regulations, and commercial transactions.
  • Personal Qualities: Excellent negotiation, drafting, writing, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Curiosity about technology and a desire to learn and impact functional areas across HYCU. Extreme attention to detail, and ability to prioritize, think, and act quickly while juggling multiple projects.
