Key Responsibilities
The successful applicant will:
- Assist in defining UX research goals
- Recommend effective UX research strategies and methodologies to meet objectives
- Plan and execute UX research initiatives; lead and mentor team members involved
- Analyze UX research data and synthesize insights; guide others in this process
- Present UX research findings to stakeholders
- Suggest design or product enhancements based on UX research insights; drive change
- Propose future UX research initiatives; contribute to the overall UX research strategy
- Mentor colleagues on effective UX research practices
- Investigate and assess emerging design, technology, and industry trends; advocate for innovative ideas as appropriate
- Report directly to the Senior Director of Software Experience Design
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related STEM fields (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics)
- Over 8 years of experience in qualitative UX research, including ethnographic studies and usability testing, along with the creation of UX research deliverables
- More than 5 years of experience in planning UX research activities and effectively communicating research findings and recommendations to stakeholders
- Experience or familiarity with metal additive manufacturing is highly desirable
- Degree or professional certification in Human Factors, Ergonomics, Industrial Engineering, Experience Design, or similar fields is strongly preferred
- Familiarity with CAD, CAM, CAE, PLM, MES, or related digital manufacturing technologies is preferred
- In-depth knowledge of UX research methodologies and tools
- Strong active listening skills, with the ability to navigate challenging collaboration and decision-making scenarios
- Ability to maintain participant focus and ensure full engagement in tasks
- Demonstrate how UX solutions address both internal and external customer challenges
- Experience in root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems effectively
- Capability to understand how individual components fit within larger systems and the relationships between them
- Ability to guide stakeholders through the design thinking process to define project scopes
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of business operations and strategic objectives
- Recognize patterns in industry activities and behaviors
- Ability to create, analyze, and manage projects that yield direct business benefits
- Expertise in Agile/Lean UX methodologies
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong written and verbal communication skills
