Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Phlebotomy Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing phlebotomy on both inpatients and outpatients, including assignment to one of our outpatient satellite laboratories.
Key Responsibilities- Communicate patient information accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
- Correctly identify outpatients and inpatients according to approved protocols with 100% accuracy.
- Properly label specimens with 100% accuracy.
- Accurately process both blood and non-blood specimens, checking specimen type for appropriateness and proper labeling.
- Review all outpatient orders and accurately perform order entry in the outpatient setting and assure tests are properly collected.
- Draw all timed/scheduled samples in a timely manner and return stat inpatient specimens to the laboratory within 10 minutes of collection.
- Deliver specimens to appropriate sections without delay.
- Operate centrifuges and aliquot specimens as indicated without delay.
- Produce copies of records/results for patients with valid release documentation.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 1+ years of phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Phlebotomy Certification required.
