Position Overview:

The Oncology Referral Specialist plays a crucial role in developing and executing a strategic plan aimed at maintaining and enhancing referrals from healthcare providers within their assigned territory. This position places a strong emphasis on data-driven analysis, targeted outreach, and territorial growth. The Oncology Referral Specialist is expected to meet specific growth objectives within their designated area, demonstrating a deep understanding of the oncology landscape.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish new referral networks while cultivating relationships with existing referring physicians.
  • Initiate and sustain regular communication with referring providers and their office staff through various channels, including peer-to-peer interactions, routine visits, emails, and phone calls.
  • Leverage Salesforce and OneAnalytics to analyze market trends, monitor new patient volumes, develop territory plans, and track new patient growth.
  • Meet weekly visit targets and accurately document activities in Salesforce.
  • Review monthly performance metrics, implement variance reporting, and monitor, assess, and report on all activities and outcomes.
  • Identify and resolve any workflow or system issues that may impede the referral process.
  • Act as the primary contact and collaborate with physician organization groups for the practice.
  • Assist in organizing community speaking engagements for physicians and clinical staff.
  • Disseminate competitive intelligence, including factors affecting the territory, business threats, and relevant information, to appropriate practice leadership.
  • Report to the OneOncology Liaison leadership team to ensure seamless collaboration and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in CRM and market analytics reporting, preferably Salesforce.
  • Ability to generate general analytical territory reports using appropriate reporting tools.
  • Strong knowledge of both Oncology and Non-Oncology Infusion Treatments is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and effectively.
  • Proactive, solution-oriented, and empathetic towards our patient population.
  • Experience in marketing and communications.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to travel locally for approximately 80% of the work week.
  • Adaptable to change.

Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 3-5 years of relevant experience in Oncology or the healthcare sector.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates without a bachelor's degree who possess an additional 4+ years of relevant experience (totaling 8 years of experience).
