Job Summary

Hargrove, Oliver, and Parker Inc Community Based Services is seeking a qualified Mental Health Worker to join our team. As a Mental Health Worker, you will be responsible for providing supportive and educational services to clients, as well as facilitating parent and peer support groups. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a high level of self-motivation and accountability to clients, program, and organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in initial assessment of client/family situations and ongoing monthly reports following the approved format.
  • Develop and implement the initial service plan (ISP) within the first 30 days.
  • Monitor the length of client services and program compliance.
  • Maintain weekly contact with the referring agency.
  • Arrange and attend weekly case supervision with Case Manager Lead.
  • Arrange and attend Clinical supervision.
  • Facilitate as a co-leader of parenting and peer education/support groups as needed.
  • Facilitate as the liaison between family, referring agencies, and other community organizations.
  • Maintain case records and document services rendered.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings consistently. Prior approval from management team is required when absent.
  • Maintain high degree of client confidentiality.
  • Work with other clinicians assigned to cases, communicating effectively.
  • Maintain a high degree of professionalism during the treatment process, with clients, and with referring agencies seeking to build and maintain positive relationships.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with client and client's family members.
  • Assist in providing crisis intervention as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

A Master's Degree in Human Services is preferred but a B.A. or B.S. in Human Services field includes social work, gerontology, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, special education, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, and human services counseling is accepted.

QPPMH Requirements:

(i) registered with the United States Psychiatric Association (USPRA) as an Associate Psychiatric Rehabilitation Provider (APRP) or (ii) has an associate's degree in a related field (social work, psychology, psychiatric rehabilitation, sociology, counseling, vocational rehabilitation, human services counseling) and at least one year of experience providing direct services to individuals with a diagnosis of mental illness; or (iii) has a minimum of 90 hours classroom training and 12 weeks of experience under the direct personal supervision of a QMHP-Adult providing services to individuals with mental illness and at least one year of experience (including the 12 weeks of supervised experience).
