Position Overview

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a full-time role within our Family Medicine department. This position is essential for providing high-quality patient care in a collaborative environment.

Location: Family Medicine Abbeyville, Lancaster Area

Work Schedule: Full-Time, Monday to Thursday from 8 AM to 9 PM, Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, Saturday from 8 AM to 12 PM, with one evening shift weekly and a rotating Saturday schedule.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED) is mandatory.
  • Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited organization (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR). If not currently certified, completion of a Medical Assistant training program is required prior to employment, with certification to be obtained within six months of hire.
  • CPR Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support is required within 30 days of hire.
  • Valid driver's license is necessary for regional positions.
  • Must be a healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • One to two years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a primary or specialty care setting.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare patients for their appointments using established protocols.
  • Administer prescribed injections and assist with various medical procedures.
  • Manage medication preparation and administration in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct Point of Care Testing, including various diagnostic tests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of exam rooms and medical equipment.
  • Provide clinical advice to patients following established protocols.
  • Coordinate referrals and assist with patient education and community resources.
  • Engage in performance improvement initiatives to enhance patient care quality.
  • Participate in daily team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
