Job Summary

Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health is seeking a skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at Family Medicine Manor Ridge. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in delivering high-quality medical services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for visits by using standardized rooming procedures.
  • Administer injections and medications as prescribed by providers, in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist providers with various procedures, minor surgeries, and exams as designated.
  • Perform Point of Care Testing, including but not limited to hearing, flu, urine, and strep tests.
  • Remove sutures and change dressings on wounds as necessary.
  • Provide clinical advice by phone/electronic correspondence, in accordance with established triage protocols.
  • Authorize prescription refills as directed by providers.
  • Assist in test tracking and monitoring overdue results.
  • Ensure exam rooms are adequately supplied and cleaned after each patient visit.
  • Participate in daily huddles with providers.
  • Serve as a patient experience advocate, promoting a positive and professional interaction with patients, visitors, and colleagues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general equivalent (GED) required.
  • Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution (AAMA, AMT, NHA, NCCT, or NAHTR) required.
  • CPR Certification required: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support.
  • Valid driver's license required for Regional Positions.
  • A healthcare provider in good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other federal and state health insurance programs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One to two years of Medical Assistant experience in a primary or specialty care physicians' office.

Working Conditions

The incumbent must be able to perform all job functions safely and efficiently. This role may require occasional regional travel for Regional Positions.
