Position Overview
We are currently seeking a dedicated Service Engineering Specialist to join our team remotely. This role involves on-site installation, preventive maintenance, and corrective repairs of Astrophysics products at various client locations. The position may require travel across the United States as necessary. The ideal candidate will possess strong troubleshooting skills, be capable of diagnosing and rectifying issues, and ensure all service documentation is completed accurately and promptly. A professional demeanor and exceptional customer service skills are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct on-site installations and perform preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions through thorough testing and return defective parts as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all service documentation, including reports and surveys.
- Maintain and input data into service databases, ensuring precision and timeliness.
- Prepare for service calls by reviewing customer and machine information in advance.
- Communicate effectively with customers and Astrophysics service headquarters regarding service progress.
- Deliver comprehensive customer packages, including warranties and survey forms.
- Provide an exceptional customer service experience.
- Encourage the sale of extended warranty contracts and additional X-Ray equipment.
- Offer operator and technical training as required.
- Document and provide technical support via phone as needed.
- Assist with custom product installations and special projects as required.
Qualifications:
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or a related discipline; or
- 2-7 years of experience in technical support or field service.
- Experience in providing technical support for X-Ray systems is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites.
- Ability to work independently and proactively.
- Team-oriented with the capacity to give and receive constructive feedback.
- Outstanding customer service skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
