About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Datacenter Technician to join our team at netPolarity, Inc. (Saicon Consultants, Inc.). As a Datacenter Technician, you will be responsible for installing and maintaining server racks, mounting servers, and connecting Ethernet and power cords.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain server racks, ensuring they are properly configured and secured.
  • Mount servers in the racks, connecting all necessary cables and power cords.
  • Route and tie cables neatly, following schematics and plans provided.
  • Troubleshoot switches, routers, cables, and servers to ensure network uptime.
  • Work with single-mode fiber, active optical cables, datacenter switches, and routers.
  • Label and manage inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and shipment logistics.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage workload effectively.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in datacenter infrastructure and network maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of datacenter switches, routers, and servers.
  • Ability to work with single-mode fiber and active optical cables.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with scripting and configuration management tools like Salt Stack or Ansible.
  • Knowledge of datacenter cabling guidelines and best practices.
