About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to join our Strategic Implementation team at the University of Iowa. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading strategic initiatives and managing projects from inception to completion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute project plans, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery
  • Collaborate with senior management, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables
  • Manage project success criteria, track progress, and disseminate information to involved parties
  • Ensure all projects include current state analysis, future state creation, and detailed execution
  • Develop and communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders
  • Partner with executives to estimate resources and participants needed to achieve project goals
  • Set and manage project expectations, delegate tasks, and track project milestones and deliverables
  • Conduct closing reviews and create recommendation reports to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, or a related field or an equivalent amount of education and experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience, with a proven track record of leading strategic initiatives and managing projects
  • Outstanding project management skills, including the ability to direct project scope, planning, and tracking while meeting timeline and budget goals
  • Experience in strategy implementation and project management, with the ability to translate complex information into simple, actionable insights
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information to all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in MS Software (Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and project management software applications
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in healthcare or a related field
  • Progressively responsible experience with operational planning, with a proven track record of facilitating strategic initiatives
  • Project Management certification (PMP) or relevant project management certification
  • Experience working in a Project Management Office (PMO)
  • Operational and/or financial management experience in an academic healthcare setting
