Job Summary:

This Medical Assistant position plays a vital role in the clinical and administrative functions of our Gastroenterology Management department at Dayton Children's. The successful candidate will perform routine clinical skills for patient care, including taking vital signs, weight, and height, as well as assisting with procedures as needed. Additionally, the Medical Assistant will be responsible for documenting patient information in EPIC, ensuring that all necessary documentation is complete in a timely manner for the provider to dictate a note and close an encounter. The ideal candidate will also be responsible for patient flow, chaperoning, stocking of rooms, ordering of tests and supplies, and interacting with other department personnel to maintain timely patient flow and provide quality customer service.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine clinical skills for patient care, including taking vital signs, weight, and height

Assist with procedures as needed

Document patient information in EPIC

Ensure all necessary documentation is complete in a timely manner for the provider to dictate a note and close an encounter

Responsible for patient flow, chaperoning, stocking of rooms, ordering of tests and supplies

Interact with other department personnel to maintain timely patient flow and provide quality customer service

Requirements:

HSD/GED is required

Completion of a program in Medical Assisting is required

CPR is preferred at hire, but must be obtained within 2 weeks of start date

At least one shift a week at South location in Springboro

Preferred Qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in a pediatric medical setting

Specializing in Pediatrics, Physician office/Clerical/Computer skills, Credentialed

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
