Job Summary

The Clinical Support Specialist will provide general clinical and procedural patient care under the direction and supervision of the center's physicians and/or providers. This role will assist providers with patient care, including order entry, reporting, phone calls, clerical, and organizational tasks, and related duties.

Key Responsibilities

Assist providers with patient care, including venipuncture, administration of injections, pulmonary function tests, ear irrigations, ultra sound therapy, muscle stimulation, hot/cold packs, EKGs, breathing treatment, x-rays, lab testing, holtor monitoring, dressing changes, wound cleaning, hearing and vision tests.

Assist providers with surgical and medical procedures, e.g. minor wound repair, foreign body removals, etc.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent certificate

Medical Assistant applicants must have successfully completed an accredited Medical Assistant program and/or will have obtained certification through a recognized certifying organization

Licensed Practical Nurse applicants must successfully have completed a practical nursing and pharmacology program and maintain current state licensure with CNE requirements

Prior experience in ambulatory health care facility preferred

Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians

Self-motivated to achieve the highest patient care and customer service standards.

CPR certified within the first 3 months of employment.

Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding

Familiarity with the EPIC EMR is strongly preferred.

Thorough understanding of HIPAA law.
