Job Summary

The Rehabilitation Aide plays a vital role in providing care and support to our participants, ensuring their independence and well-being. As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will assist in the maintenance of physical activity, exercise, transfers, and ambulation, while maintaining a safe and clean environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide maintenance care to participants, including toileting, showers, eating, and grooming, while promoting independence and dignity.
  • Assist in treatment setups and routine patient care tasks, such as applying heat packs, weights, and setting participants in the bicycle or treadmill.
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the rehab area, including cleaning and sanitizing equipment, furniture, and hydrocollator tanks.
  • Check hydrocollator water levels and temperatures daily and report any malfunctions to the supervisor.
  • Identify safety hazards and emergency situations, and initiate corrective action as able.
  • Keep a record of open caseloads and schedule participants' appointments in the computer system in a timely manner.
  • Assist with general activities, such as conversing with participants, providing support in supervising participants' safety, and providing patient care under direct supervision of Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT).
  • Assure compliance with infection control, personal protection equipment, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous material handling, and fire safety standards.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all participant information.
Requirements
  • Minimum of one (1) year of documented experience working with a frail or elderly population.
  • Experience in a long-term care facility or with a community-based geriatric program preferred.
  • At a minimum, a GED or high school diploma is required.
  • Is medically cleared for communicable diseases and has all immunizations up-to-date before engaging in direct participant contact.
  • CPR with First-Aid certification.

  • Ability to access all areas of the center throughout the workday.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 25 pounds frequently, and 10 pounds constantly.
  • Requires constant hand grasp and finger dexterity; frequent sitting, standing, walking, and repetitive leg and arm movements.

$19 - $22/hr
