Audiology Specialist

As a skilled Audiologist, you will conduct comprehensive diagnostic evaluations of the auditory and vestibular systems, providing expert assessments of adults and children. You will also offer guidance, counseling, and recommendations for the rehabilitation of hearing-impaired patients, including determining suitability for cochlear implant surgery. This role requires upholding Kaiser Permanente's policies and procedures, as well as applicable state, federal, and local laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform and interpret diagnostic tests for pediatric, geriatric, and vestibular populations, as well as facial nerve integrity.
- Counsel patients on future therapeutic plans and provide mobile diagnostic services for inpatients, ICU, NICU, and operative patients.
- Evaluate and assess hearing aid referrals, maintaining accurate and comprehensive records in patient medical charts and department-based files.
- Perform daily equipment biological calibrations, maintain equipment, and initiate repair requests.
- Lead monthly patient education classes and assist families with placement into appropriate education settings for hearing-impaired children.
- Serve as a resource for hearing and vestibular assessment and rehabilitation to physicians, paraprofessionals, and patients regarding hearing health diagnostics and care.
- Maintain professional competency and adhere to industry standards.
Requirements:
- Masters or Doctorate degree in Audiology required.
- Audiologist License (California) and Basic Life Support certification required at hire.
- National Provider Identifier required at hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One year of experience as an Audiologist preferred.
