Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise a range of accounting activities and assist in the preparation of financial reports and analyses.
- Ensure adherence to financial regulations while managing accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general accounting duties.
- Contribute to the establishment and maintenance of financial controls, aiding in the monthly financial reporting process.
- Uphold accounting standards by following established policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant financial laws.
- Collaborate with senior management and project teams under the guidance of the CFO.
- Oversee audits, manage lien waiver processes, and act as a backup for payroll functions.
- Accurately input data with minimal oversight.
- Verify the accuracy of all reported financial data.
- Process payroll on a weekly basis.
- Manage financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and accounting for commercial construction initiatives.
- Prepare financial statements, reports, and cost analyses to assess project performance.
- Implement and uphold internal controls to ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
- Monitor cash flow, manage accounts payable and receivable, and oversee payroll functions for employees.
- Engage with external auditors, tax advisors, and financial consultants as necessary.
- Conduct quality control on all invoices related to construction projects, ensuring proper coding.
- Analyze financial data and offer strategic insights to reduce expenses and enhance financial performance.
- Provide financial insights on decision-making matters impacting construction projects.
- Assist in formulating the annual operating budget and periodic financial forecasts.
- Work alongside the Project Accountant to ensure accurate job costing and reporting for project profitability and budget variances.
- Train and supervise finance department personnel, ensuring proficiency in their roles.
- Collaborate with the executive team to devise long-term strategic plans and company policies.
- Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or 10 years of relevant experience.
- A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and compliance.
- Familiarity with Foundation Accounting Software and Procore Construction Management Software is preferred.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in commercial construction accounting.
