About the Department

Emerging Technologies & Incubation (ETI) is where new and bold products are built and released within Cloudflare. Rather than being constrained by the structures that make Cloudflare a massively successful business, we're able to leverage them to deliver entirely new tools and products to our customers.

Cloudflare's edge and network make it possible to solve problems at massive scale and efficiency, which would be impossible for almost any other organization.

What You Will Do

As a member of the Workers Deploy & Config team, you will collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and Product Managers to design, build, and support large-scale, customer-facing systems that push the boundaries of what's possible at Cloudflare's edge computing platform.

You will drive projects from idea to release, delivering solutions at all layers of the software stack to empower Cloudflare customers.

You can expect to interact with a variety of languages and technologies, including Go, Kubernetes, Postgres SQL, Typescript, JavaScript, and Rust.

You will be expected to support the health and availability of critical services by being part of an on-call rotation.

Desirable Skills and Experience

We're looking for individuals with 3+ years of professional experience building and managing software applications.

Understanding of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, object-oriented principles, and API design, is a must.

Knowledge of at least one modern programming language, such as Go, Rust, Java, or C#, is required.

Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and front-end development is a plus.

Experience in designing and architecting distributed systems, designing and implementing REST APIs, and working with cloud platforms is highly valued.

Experience in SQL, familiarity with common relational database concepts, and experience in testing, debugging, troubleshooting, optimizing, and identifying possible failures are also desirable.

Familiarity with the web and technologies such as web browsers, HTTP, and JavaScript is a must.

Familiarity with Kubernetes, Kafka, and Clickhouse is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location.

For New York City-based and California (excluding Bay Area) and Washington hires, the estimated annual salary is $154,000 - $188,000.

For Bay Area-based hires, the estimated annual salary is $162,000 - $198,000.

This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare's equity plan.
