Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm

Job Summary

The Northwest Asthma and Allergy Center is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations, including the management of accounting records, preparation of financial reports, and payroll administration. This role reports directly to the Executive Director and ensures adherence to accounting principles and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, exceptional organizational skills, and effective communication abilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain precise and current financial records.
  • Prepare and present regular financial statements and reports.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and fixed asset reports.
  • Oversee payroll and accounts payable functions.
  • Process and review returns for excise, payroll, and personal property taxes.
  • Collaborate with departmental managers to develop annual capital and operational budgets.
  • Conduct financial analysis to identify trends and provide insights to management.
  • Ensure compliance with standards for Income-Tax based accounting.
  • Assist with accounting and financial audits as necessary.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee inquiries regarding payroll matters.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll laws and regulations.
  • Provide financial training and support to department leadership and physicians as required.
  • Maintain positive relationships with external accounting firms, banks, and financial institutions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
  • Handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting and payroll management.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare sector preferred.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex).
  • Strong knowledge of Income-Tax Based Accounting, payroll laws, and tax regulations.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.
