Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Disabilities Services Coordinator to join our team at Volunteers of America Los Angeles. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and implementing disability services for children aged birth to five in our Head Start programs.

About the Role:

  • You will recruit and enroll children with disabilities or suspected disabilities from the community, working closely with other agencies and organizations to identify potential candidates.
  • You will train and mentor direct support staff on strategies and techniques to support children with specific disabilities, in accordance with Head Start Performance Standards and IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
  • You will work collaboratively with education staff to address the needs of children with disabilities, providing parent training and one-on-one coaching as needed.
  • You will facilitate MDTS meetings and coordinate consulting and contracting of disability services with outside agencies.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Social Sciences, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in Early Head Start/Head Start Disabilities Area.

Benefits:

We offer a competitive salary range of $71,694 - $75,468 per year, plus comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
