About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Medical Intake Specialist to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a seamless patient experience, from initial contact to appointment scheduling.

Key Responsibilities
  • Taking phone calls from patients and guiding them through the intake process, collecting all necessary information accurately.
  • Verifying patient demographics, insurance, and medical history information.
  • Ensuring completion and filing of required documents, authorizations, and referrals.
  • Collaborating with healthcare providers and insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations for procedures and treatments.
  • Responding to patient inquiries about the intake process, insurance coverage, and appointment scheduling.
  • Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Addressing patient concerns and delivering exceptional customer service throughout the intake process.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education in healthcare administration is desirable.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient intake or medical office administration.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and prior authorization processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in using electronic health records (EHR) and other healthcare management systems.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a patient-focused attitude.
