Parking Lot Attendant Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Parking Lot Attendant to join our team at Edmond Public Schools. As a Parking Lot Attendant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • **Monitor Parking Areas:** Expedite the movement of buses and other vehicles during peak traffic flow, ensuring a smooth and efficient parking experience.
  • **Enforce Parking Rules:** Vigilantly monitor parking lots to ensure that vehicles are parked in designated spaces, and enforce parking regulations as outlined in the Student Handbook and relevant laws.
  • **Secure Parking Areas:** Secure parking areas as needed, and issue warnings to individuals who violate parking rules and regulations.
  • **Supervise Parking Permits:** Supervise the parking areas, checking parking permits of students and issuing warnings when necessary.
  • **Assist with Emergency Situations:** Assist students, staff, and visitors with minor emergency mechanical problems, such as jump-starting vehicles or unlocking doors.
  • **Monitor Security:** Monitor the security of all portable buildings and other outer buildings on school premises, and report any vandalism or suspicious activity to the proper authorities.
  • **Maintain a Safe Environment:** Establish and maintain a good working relationship with the Edmond Police Department, and respond to security and emergency calls as needed.
  • **Perform Other Duties:** Perform other duties as assigned by supervisory staff to provide exceptional service, security, safety, and quality to our students, staff, and visitors.

Requirements:

  • **Education:** High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • **Experience:** Previous experience in a related field, such as parking enforcement or security, is preferred.
  • **Certifications/Licenses:** Valid driver's license and a driving record that is acceptable to the school's insurance carrier.
  • **Language Skills:** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • **Mathematical Skills:** Ability to plan budgets and use mathematical skills to do so.
  • **Reasoning Skills:** Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
